Welcome to the timeline for the fourth Sikh Environment Day – March 14, 2014. Last year more than 1565 Sikh Gurdwaras, schools, businesses and communities took part. This year our target is that AT LEAST TWO THOUSAND groups take positive, thoughtful and constructive actions for their environment. Sikh Environment Day 2014 is a gift to the earth that will do good for a long time to come. We have some great ideas of what you can do this year, but we hope you will have others. Please let us know your plans, and inspire us (and Sikhs around the world) with your actions.

March 13th, 2014, Volunteer organisations, Youth group from Bengalore, White Pixels and International Trade Links, Ludhiana volunteered in making this total episode a huge success

March 13th, 2014, Victoria Finlay of ARC and Giani Mull Singh ji of Sri Kesgarh Sahib will be attending the celebrations at historical Naulakha Garden of Guru Har Rai ji, organised by Sri Ganga Nursery of Zirakpur on March 14.

March 13th, 2014; Magic Years Pre-Nursery School, Ludhiana: a few youngsters including Chetanpal, Jasmeen and his friends have connected to the school for environment celebrations with kindergarten kids.

March 13th, 2014; Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Abohar, Punjab; is organizing a painting competition at Nehru Stadium with the topic “Save Environment”. After that short animated movies on environment will also be shown to the kids. Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle is also organising an environment rally on March 17, Holla Mohalla.

March 13th, 2014; Woodstock Public School, Batala, Amritsar; is conducting a seminar/speech on environment. The school will install environment notice board and a ceremonial tree planting will be done. Plantation drive is also being planned.

March 13th, 2014; Gurmat Gyan Missionary College, Ludhiana; the college has planned two events on the occasion of Sikh Environment Day. Saplings will be planted at various spots on 14th March and a seminar will be conducted on 16th March at the college campus.

March 13th, 2014; Gurudwara Nanaksar, Samrala Chowk , Ludhiana; Jyotsana Dhingra, a volunteer will share the PowerPoint Presentation on Sikh Environment Day with the sangat at the Gurudwara Nanaksar.

March 13th, 2014; Gurudwara Dukhniwarn Sahib, Fazilka, Punjab; planted 100 plants around the Gurudwara today and kirtan on the theme of Nature is organized on 14th March.

March 12th, 2014; Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee, Amritsar; Directives has been passed to all the educational institutions, gurudwaras and hospitals to mark 14 March as Sikh Environment Day and plan various activities as suitable to their institution. The activities may include eco-assembly, plantation, clean up drives, art and painting competitions along with the display of Gurbani quotes on Nature in the premises of various institutions.

March 12th, 2014; Gurudwara Shri Guru Nanak Niwas Sahib, Lier, Norway; the sangat and management committee will get inspiration from Gurbani on Nature on Sikh Environment Day. Tree plantation will also be another feature of the celebrations. Miljo Sikh is invited to present the PowerPoint show to connect the sangat with “Being Sikh Means Being Kind to Nature”.

March 12th, 2014; Baba Jorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Punjabi School and Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, Buena Park, California; Katha/Kirtan and seminar on Environment along with ceremonial tree planting.

March 11th, 2014; Gurpreet Singh Baba Bakala and Manpreet Singh Kanpuri; The famous hymn singers will share the message of environment protection in all the events organized in the week of March 14. Some events are organsied in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) while others are in various parts of Punjab.

March 11th, 2014 Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ferozpur; will mark the celebrations at Shaheed Udham Singh University College Guruharsahai. The 50 rose plants and college will have separate plantation as they have big campus.

March 10th, 2014; Mahal Welfare Services at Gurudwara Tibbi Sahib, Roop Nagar; will celebrate Sikh Environment Day by distributing tree saplings to sangat. There is a local fair as well so expected visitors will be in thousands. They plan to distribute about 5000 saplings.

Logo_SGGSWUMarch 10th, 2014; Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh; will conduct a seminar on “Nanakian’s Philosophy on Environment”, along with plantation at the University campus. EcoSikh project manager Ravneet Pal Singh will also be one of the key speakers.

March 9th, 2014; Dharminder Singh Gill of Gillco Atta Chaki, Tajpur, Ludhiana; will organize a plantation drive along with the Shopkeeper’s Association in Tajpur area.

March 9th, 2014; Chhattisgarh Sikh Council and Shri Guru Nanak Dev Gurmat College, Raipur; massive plantation drive is organized at the college campus on the occasion of Sikh Environment Day. Other organizations which have supported the event are Chhattisgarh Sikh Mission Devpuri, Guru Singh Sabha Station Road and Mata Sahib Kaur Marriage Bureau.

March 8th, 2014; Gurudwara Sahib Austin, Texas; has confirmed their participation in Sikh Environment Day celebrations via video presentations to Children at the Gurudwara Sahib. Katha/Kirtan on Environment, plant distribution, a ceremonial tree planting will also be the part of celebrations. Along with this they will increase the green patch in and around the Gurudwara premises.

March 8th, 2014; ESS PEE Institute of IT & Management, Amritsar; will conduct a seminar/speech on environment and in the long term they will audit their energy consumption and will act accordingly to reduce it.

March 7th, 2014; Sikh Society of Rochester, Minnesota, USA; Students of the Sunday school exhibited their art work with the theme of environment conservation. Arswinder Kaur, teacher, Shared 10 ways to be eco-friendly along with her poem in Punjabi with the title Usda Roop and dedicated it to Sikh Environment Day. The poem conveys the message of “being selfless while loving God and His Creation. Our duty as humans is to actively maintain the cleanliness of our inner and outer world regularly. We are the ones who are able to and are responsible for taking care of our beautiful biosphere which more importantly serve as our home”.

March 7th, 2014; Gurudwara Sahib Barindavan Extension, Mysore; youth group and Gurudwara committee will distribute 100 rose plants to the Sangat along with the pamphlet displaying information about 10 ways to be eco friendly among sangat on the occasion of Sikh Environment Day

Avtar SIngh Makkar on SIkh Environment DayMarch 6th, 2014; SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar gave a welcoming speech for Sikh Environment Day appealing the Sikhs and youth around the world to plant trees.

March 6th, 2014; Kalgidhar Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana; eco-assembly and lecture by kids on the theme of environment protection.

March 6th, 2014; 1515 Ph-1, Dugri, Ludhiana; Kirtan on nature focused Gurbani will be organized with a gathering of about 30 to 40 families along with PowerPoint Shows and leaflets by the hosting family.

March 5th, 2014; Gurudwara of South West Houston, Texas, USA; is marking Sikh Environment Day celebrations via PowerPoint Presentation on the theme of “Being Sikh Means Being Kind to Nature” in the Gurudwara.

March 5th, 2014; Gurudwara Alnabru, Oslo, Norway; along with the Punjabi School Veitvet will mark the Sikh Environment celebrations on 14th March in the evening gathering. Kirtan of nature focused Gurbani with meanings along with sharing Miljo Sikh Initiative (what has been done and what is going internationally for the protection of environment by Sikhs). Later tips on better environment will shared and a lecture of a researcher in Plastic with the topic Use/Misuse of plastic will be delivered. Miljo Sikh will also present an environment friendly bill board to Gurudwara on the occasion of Sikh Environment Day.

KAPKF Sikh Environment DayMarch 5th, 2014; Group of young kids who performs Gurbani Kirtan, Akal Purakh Ki Fauz, Ludhiana, has planned a week long celebrations and sharing for nature protection with sangat. They will also share PowerPoint show at all the places during the week of March 14.

 

 

Susan Prill EcoSikhMarch 4th, 2014; Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar; Dr. Susan Prill Associate Professor of Religion from Juniata College, Pennsylvania, delivered a lecture on “Green Gurbani” illustrating the Sikh Environmental thought.

March 4th, 2014; Dr. Susan Prill, Associate Professor of Religion, Juniata College, Pennsylvania, USA; Susan Prill will be sharing the Sikh Environmental thought in Pittsburg Gurudwara and series of lecture at her college along with other places of her network during the week of March 14.

 

Baba Kulwant SIngh Ajnala Green Nagar KirtanMarch 3rd, 2014; Schools in Ajnala area, Amritsar; Baba Kulwant Singh from Ajnala will mobilize the environmental activism in 25 schools of his area. Animated short movies will be shared with the kids of the schools along with their innovative plans which will be shared later.

March 3rd, 2014; Sukhmani Sewa Society, Vaishali, Bihar; 22 members of the group are working on making this day successful through their efforts. Congratulations and appreciations for all the efforts to create awareness.

March 3rd, 2014; Ghana Sikh Sangat; Young Jasmine Kaur from Ghana is planning celebrations at Ghana Gurdwara with other volunteers who will share their celebration pics after March 14.
Baba Sewa SinghMarch 3rd, 2014; Kar Sewa Khadoor Sahib; Baba Sewa Singh ji and his team from Khadoor sahib will also be marking Sikh Environment Celebrations in villages and Gurudwaras.

March 3rd, 2014; Kanwar Satnam Singh Memorial School, Jallandhar; will participate in Sikh Environment Day celebrations via kirtan, eco-assembly and PowerPoint Show.

March 3rd, 2014; Bhai Amandeep Singh from IIT Kanpur with Sikh Sangat and Gurudwaras; committed for Sikh Environment Day celebrations at various educational organizations and Gurudwaras. They will be sharing EcoSikh Power Point Shows and gurbani on nature theme to inspire sangat for nature preservation at Gurdwaras and homes.

March 3rd, 2014; Guru Nanak Foundation of Tidewater, Chesapaeke, USA; has banned the use of Styrofoam/plastic cutlery in the Gurudwara. To create awareness among Sangat posters and banners are being displayed in the premises. Ceremonial tree plantation is done and support from media is also sought to spread the news. Katha /kirtan on the theme of environment will also be organized.

 

khalsa collegeMarch 3rd, 2014; Khalsa College Governing Council, Amritsar; have seventeen educational institutions in Amritsar district. They will be partaking in the awareness campaign through various activities at their respective schools and colleges. Plans will be shared later.

March 2nd, 2014; Cambridge International School, Amritsar; planned a play on environment to celebrate Sikh Environment Day.

 

 

 

Golden Art Sikh Environment dayMarch 2nd, 2014; Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar; will be organizing an exhibition on environment. Full details will be provided later.

March 2nd, 2014; Bhai Manj Gurmat Sangeet Academy, Amritsar; students from around 25 schools will be involved in eco-assembly, PowerPoint Show will be shared with them to share eco practices that should be inculcated in day to day lives.

March 2nd, 2014; Sikh Satsang of Indianapolis, Sikh Educational & Cultural Society of Indianapolis Indiana, USA; has organised an event at Sikh Gurdwara. Acton Road. An Eco Green Essay Writing or Poem Project-2014 and Children Art Display along with katha-kirtan diwan on March 14 evening.

March 2nd, 2014; Kanwal Prakash Singh, an architect by training, better known for his pen and ink drawings of historic architecture and monuments from Indiana; has shown keen interest in the Sikh Environmental thought and expressed that he will be sharing this initiative at the events he will be participating or addressing during the month of March.

March 1st, 2014; Glasgow Gurudwara Guru Granth Sahib Sikh Sabha, Scotland; has taken a step ahead and long term plan has been made in partnership with the Climate Challenge Fund to explore the views of the Glasgow Sikh community on the environment. Further on this basis, plan of action will be determined. They will be marking Sikh Environment Day on March 14 as part of their project “Creating a Greener Glasgow Gurudwara”.

March 1st, 2014; Dashmesh Jyot School, Nanded, Maharashtra; Kids will be involved via eco assembly, PowerPoint Show and animated short movies on environment protection. Singing Gurbani on Nature will be another part of the Sikh Environment day celebrations.
Guru Nanak PhulwariMarch 1st, 2014; Guru Nanak Phulwari, Chandigarh; religious group with youngsters connected to over 300 families. They are organizing two functions to mark Sikh Environment Day celebrations with a gathering of 2500 to 3000 at each programme. Katha and kirtan on the theme of Nature in Gurbani will be organized.

March 1st, 2014; Young Gurdeep Singh will share the Sikh Environment Day information with the sangat in his Gurudwara and educational institution.
DubaiFebruary 28th, 2014; Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar, Dubai, UAE; is organizing special programme on Sikh Environment Day with Katha/Kirtan on the theme of Nature and life of Guru Har Rai Ji. Along with this they have planned a pictorial exhibition on Gurbani & nature and life of Guru Har Rai. It will also depict phrases from Gurbani which have reference to nature. Gurdwaras who want to conduct such exhibition in their premises, please contact us. EcoSikh will provide images, Gurbani phrases and themes to chalk out plans for exhibition.

 

Sikh Center HoustanFebruary 28th, 2014; Gurudwara Sikh Center of Gulf Coast Area, Houstan, Texas- is dedicating the full weekend to Sikh Environment Day, organizing youth Kirtan darbar dedicated to Guru Har Rai Ji on March 14, along with the PowerPoint show in English. On the next day they have planned a cleanup around the Gurudwara and will plant small and flowery plants to increase the green patch in and around the Gurudwara premises. On Sunday a regular diwan with nature focused Gurbani, katha on life of Guru Har Rai Ji and Punjabi PowerPoint Presentation will be conducted for all ages. And a ceremonial tree will be planted as a tribute to Guru Har Rai Ji.

 

Naulakha

February 27th, 2014; Sri Ganga Nursery Zirakpur with SGPC- will be planting cinnamon plants at historical Naulakha garden in Kiratpur Sahib. The plan is to provide organically grown medicinal herb to Sri Kesgarh Sahib and Sheeshmehal Sahib tea langar to promote good health and blessings of Guru Har Rai Ji. This organisation is led by Bhai Manjit Singh who has been instrumental in greenification of historical Gurdwaras in Fatehgarh Sahib, Poanta Sahib, and Kiratpur Sahib. Last year Ganga Nursery revived the herbal status of Guru Har Rai’s Naulakha Garden dedicated to Sikh Environment day in collaboration with SGPC. See video from Naulakha Garden.
February 27th, 2014; Sikhs Helping Sikhs, Australia- an international Sikh Organisation run by JS Uppal will be inculcating environment education as a part of Sikh teachings in their regular camps being conducted in villages and schools of Punjab. Satnam Singh Salhopuri, a well known parcharak will be the leading teacher in these camps.
GGSF kidsFebruary 24th, 2014, Guru Nanak Foundation, Silver Spring, USA-the Gurdwara and their Khalsa School has planned Katha Kirtan diwan, plantation drives and special contests for kids. This Gurdwara has been inspirational in the celebrations each year and they have ever shown innovation in engaging their sangat and young buds.
February 20th, 2014; Gursikh Family Club, Ludhiana, Punjab; 70 Gursikh families will get together for presentation of short movies on environment awareness along with a debate/discussion on the theme of Caring for Environment.

 

February 24th, 2014, Young Flares Ludhiana-in a recent meeting with EcoSikh this highly diverse and energized group of youngsters has created three plans as below. This meeting held at public park of Ludhiana was so inspiring that the group raised reasonably Young Flares 2huge funds to conduct their proposed activity. Some of the park visitors from Canada who witnessed the meeting help with their generous donations and ideas. This group has been influential in promoting clean and green nagar kirtans in Ludhiana.

  • Gift potted plants to local old-age home: “Medicinal plants will be a valued asset to the elders and will promote their health.” Said group leader Harjit Kaur
  • Plantation drive at local orphanage home: to begin with the group intend to open a small pilot project to train kids at orphanage to start their own kitchen garden and an orchid in their land.
  • Dust-Bin installation at Dugri Market: 5-10 trash bins will be gifted to mobile food stalls keepers and creative plans will be made to keep them motivated to maintain the cleanliness of the market.

Doraha Edu CollegelogoFebruary 23rd, Doraha Group of Institutions; a group of colleges and public schools run by family of Sant Kartar Singh Ji Kamaliye wale have impactful plans for March 14. Other than conducting seminars and PowerPoint shows, the schools will have eco-assemblies as well. The special group of student volunteers from several villages around Doraha will visit their village Gurdwaras and share awareness posters and lessons with Gurdwara heads. They will also request the Gurdwara committees to conduct special diwans focused on environment to engage villagers for the betterment of village.
February 22nd, 2014 Punjab Journalists– Sri Ganga Nursery presented 50 potted decorative plant saplings to all the press and media journalists as a thank you gift to them for playing a wonderful role in promoting environmental values in the society and as a token of love by Guru Har Rai Sahib for Sikh Environment Day. It was specifically requested them to place these plants in their 50 offices in Chandigarh area to remind them of their responsibility towards environment and the planet as professionals.
Bibek TrustFebruary 22nd, Bibek Trust, New Delhi- as a long term plan, this group will inculcate environment education as a part of Sikh teaching in their regular camps being conducted in New Delhi, UP and MP areas.
February 22nd, 2014; Dastar Sajao Lehar, Mansa, Punjab- Turbanators from Mansa area are planning for an environment awareness rally in the city. They will be visiting various Gurudwaras, schools and other social welfare organization to share the information about Sikh Environment Day.
February 22nd, 2014, Miljo Sikhs, Norway- our Norway chapter of EcoSikh has created huge plans for Sikh Environment Day. A group of young Sikh girls will be conducting sessions with Punjabi School students, who will carry forward the environment lessons to 200 Sikh families. They will enact life history of Gentle Guru Har Rai Ji, the most popular sakhi of Guru Ji. Environmental videos will be shared as well.
Separate sessions will be held with the middle and high sections conducting;

  • Shabad gayan on nature theme and
  • A discussion on how to implement Guru’s teachings in daily life, fun facts videos on environment

Class-wise creative workshop:

  • What would you do, if you were a Environment President of Norway or Punjab?
  • On stage sharing of plans by enacting Presidents proving themselves
  • A quiz competition and
  • A Miljo Sikh of the Year Award for the best candidate

Primary wing will be playing environment games and picture quiz competition.
Khalsa English School Kolkata (3)ltFebruary 21st, 2014; Khalsa English High School, Kolkata; this school is celebrating a Full Week on environment care with range of different activities that would be conducted by School students as a part of their learning.

February 20th, 2014; Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh, Punjab; Conducting a seminar on E-Waste and a kirtan program with the theme of Nature in Gurbani on the occasion of Sikh environment Day.
February 20th, 2014; Kalgidhar Sewak Jatha, Mohali, Punjab; organizing flower show, on the spot photography competition and Kirtan on the theme of nature in Gurbani.

GGSF..February 19th, 2014; Guru Gobind Singh Foundation, Maryland, USA will organize katha and kirtan program on March 14 dedicated to Guru Har Rai ji. Later on March 16 they have planned various activities with kids and youngsters. They will organize painting, poetry, PowerPoint Show and plantation drive. The Gurmat School under GGSF has organised a special episode for kids and youngsters including painting, shabad gayan, PowerPoints, plantation drives and poetry on environment.
February 19th, 2014; Sikh Foundation, Virginia, Katha and Kirtan program will be organized on Sikh Environment Day focusing on Nature based Gurbani.
February 19th, 2014; Gurudwara Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, Virginia; will organize Katha/Kirtan on nature focused Gurbani and plans to discontinue the use of plastic and foam cutlery in the Gurudwara.
Raj KhalsaFebruary 19th, 2014; Raj Khalsa Gurudwara, Sterling, Virginia; Katha and Kirtan program will be organized on Sikh Environment Day focusing on Nature based Gurbani.
February 18th, 2014; Ghana, Africa; Ghana Sikh Sangat has confirmed their participation and they will share their plans soon. Young Jasmin Kaur and her father Amardeep Singh Hari have connected with EcoSikh to take this special initiative to inspire their local sangat with Guru’s teachings on environment.

February 15th, 2014; Gurudwara Ulsoor, Banglore; youth groups in Bengalore along with Gurdwara Management are preparing for Sikh Environment day celebrations. Painting competition, PowerPoint show, plantation drive and awareness campaign is being planned. Much more excitement to be shared soon.
Hyderabad SEDFebruary 14th, 2014; Schools and Gurudwaras from Hyderabad; about 20 gurdwaras and 2 educational institutions are planning is in full swing as confirmed by our EcoSikh Coordinator Swarn Singh. This organisation have been influential in promoting clean and green nagar kirtans in Andhra Pradesh and have been working on a long term greenification project of Sikh populated area called Sikh Chhawniat.
February 14th, 2014; Chander Prakash Khatri from Sindh, Pakistan has registered online and confirmed that their youth group will organize special program on March 14, 2014 dedicated to Guru Har Rai ji. Chander has also changed his facebook profile to share this event. How sweet is his dedication towards mother earth.
February 14th, 2014; Arjan Kaur Khalsa from Espanola, New Mexico, USA; has planned to speak with Gurudwara sangat about the environmental challenges and share the disadvantages of using plastic and foam cutlery and promoting sustainable plates and cutlery.
February 14th, 2014; Rajinder Singh Khalsa, a 32 years young Sikh religious teacher, who manages eleven Village Gurdwaras has assured full support in taking forward the message of Gurbani in these villages. He says, ” It is a matter that Punjabis should have known before and as a part of my religious duty, I will support EcoSikh cause with best of my capabilities.”
Kashmir SEDFebruary 14th, 2014; SAVE organization, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, will organize environment quiz for school and college students. Along with this plantation drive, PowerPoint show, nature focused Gurbani discussions and many more programs are being planned. Plantation drive will start in mid April as per the weather conditions.
February 13th, 2014; Village Patto Hira Singh Wala (click this link to watch video) declares huge plans this Sikh Environment Day: a historical Gurdwara and villagers are adding an eleven acres of land into Guru Ka Bagh on the Gurdwara land. This Gurdwara was visited by four Sikh Gurus. The plans are to create a marvel of nature on this piece of land, which will include a small pond with water animals like ducks, swans etc. A special area for composting green waste, a piece of land for growing organic veggies, walkways and variety of native trees to habitat peacocks and other native birds within the park. The gurdwara also shared plans to install bird houses on the trees as symbolism of their love for birds. On the very day they are connecting 26 different organisations of the village plus.

February 12th, 2014; Guru Gobind Singh Academy, Connecticut, USA will again be celebrating via seminar and speech on environment. They will also install environment notice board and will promote the use of recycled paper in the school office.
February 12th, 2014; Gurdwara Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Foundation, Connecticut, USA will involve the sangat in Sikh Environment day celebrations through Katha/Kirtan on the theme of nature. Along with this they will introduce eco-friendly features like solar energy or water recycling and will also increase the green patch in the Gurdwara building. Environment focused Gurbani exhibition will be showcased in Gurdwara premises.

Tavleen 125x75 copyFebruary 12th, 2014; Tavleen Foundation, Indore, has appeared with another innovation for Sikh Environment Day 2014 celebrations by distributing the seeds of the plants (flowers, fruits and vegetables) to spread the movement. Importantly the seeds will be purely organic i.e. not genetically modified. Katha-Kirtan diwan will be organised for awareness and rejoicing Sikh values on environment.

3. Satnam TrustFebruary 10, 2014; Satnam Sarab Kalyan Trust, has always celebrated March 14, as Sikh Environment Day with their students spread in 302 schools across Punjab. This non-profit organisation shares Sikh Religious knowledge with students in these schools, hold Carrier Guidance camps for senior secondary schools, teacher training camps. They also hold Amrit Sanchar and promotes education by funding under-priviledged Sikhs for higher education as well.
February 7th, 2014; Nine individuals from various places have committed via online registrations that they will celebrate Sikh Environment Day. Rajandeep Singh from Chandigarh, Manjit Singh from Tamil Nadu, JP Singh from New Delhi, Arvinder Singh and Kanwarinder Singh from Mumbai, Harkirat Singh from Mohali, Karandeep Singh from Amritsar will participate in Sikh Environment Day celebrations by spreading awareness about the day to at least 5 people and will talk to their neighborhood Gurudwara as well and will gift plants to their family and friends. Meena Dhillon from Canada and Surinder Kaur from Assam will gift plants to family and friends, go for a nature walk with kids and family and talk to neighborhood Gurudwara about Sikh Environment Day.
February 7th, 2014; Arpan, a social welfare organization, Ropar, Punjab; will celebrate Sikh Environment Day by conducting a seminar on environment protection based on Gurbani, community clean up drive, plantation drive or ceremonial tree plantation.
February 7th, 2014; Dagshai Public School, Himachal Pradesh has confirmed the participation In Sikh Environment Day celebrations. They have always leaded by inspiring the kids through speeches, and action oriented activities. Welcome team Dagshai!

February 7th, 2014; GNM School, Georgia, USA will conduct seminar/speech on environment. They will install environmental notice board along with a ceremonial tree planting, plantation drive. The school will initiate the use of recycled paper in office. They will also educate sangat about the importance of recycling.
February 5th, 2014; Chief Khalsa Diwan Schools, in the last executive meeting the organisation declared full support and celebrations in all their 46 schools in Amritsar district and around. Multiversity logoJanuary 30, 2014: 500 Schools by Guru Nanak Khalsa Multiversity: EcoSikh held a press conference to announce the launch of Sikh Environment Day campaign to invite Sikhs all over the world to celebrate Sikh Environment day, a Tribute to Guru Har Rai Sahib. Guru Nanak Khalsa Multiversity agreed to support the cause, via celebrations in 800 schools Punjab-wide.
