25.08.2014 World Bank team for sustainable solutions to Amritsar city’s Environmental Issues

ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability is working in tandem with the Punjab Government to create sustainable solutions for environmental issues of Amritsar and Ludhiana. Eco-Amritsar has a strong association with this organization and is sure that something big will come out of this partnership.
 

29.08.2014 Environmental Rally by Punjab and Sind Bank

The Zonal manager of Punjab and Sind Bank organised an Environment Rally at the culmination of the training of the newly inducted Probationary officers of the Bank. A truly novel way of ensuring positive induction of the young officers in addition to educating them about their responsibility towards the environment. Eco-Amritsar was invited to be a part of this effort. They carried Eco-Amritsar Placards and propogated the slogan “Amritsar: My City, My Pride, My Responsibility”. More Pictures can be seen here.
 

08.10.2014 Green Nagar Kirtan on Guru Ram Das Ji Gurpurab

In addition to the “Amritsar Foundation Day”, “Sri Guru Ram Das Ji’s” Gurpurab is a very important event for the residents of this city. Continuing like last year, the “Green Nagar Kirtan” was executed with the help of volunteers from SGPC, Municipal Corporation Amritsar, Khalsa College Public School and Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology. The Sangat too joined in the efforts and Eco-Amritsar can say that a visible change was felt during this year’s Nagar Kirtan. More Pictures can be seen here.

Kudos to Dr. Saravjit Kaur Brar, Principal of Khalsa College Public School as well as her teacher in charge Mr. Narwinder Singh who ensured great participation of the students in the “Green Nagar Kirtan”.
